Hi, I am Marketa Sindlerova, a lifestyle and wedding photographer who shoots film, digital and Super8.
I’ve been documenting my life and the lives of other people for more than twenty-one years and nine years professionally.
I got into photography thanks to my dad, as he once got an SLR for himself, and I was amazed by it, so for my next birthday, I wished to get a camera as well.
Since then, it has been my biggest motivation to earn some money as a student to buy a new camera.
I try to keep it relatively simple with my gear, but I have a broad range of options.
Canon EOS R6 Mark II – this camera produces high-quality 24.2 megapixel images, fast shooting speeds of up to 40 frames per second, advanced subject tracking, as well as up to 4K 60p video.
Canon 6D Mark II– my first ever full-frame DSLR; lightweight and versatile. I still use this as a reliable backup.
Canon EOS 300 – my first ever film SLR.
Canon EOS 1N – 35mm single reflex camera body, which I love to use.
Holga 120 GCFN – for surreal look monochrome film photos.
Contax 167MT – great for film portrait or street photography.
Super 8 514XL – I like to record wedding footage with this handy camera.
Super 8 514XL-S – my backup for the other 514XL.
Sigma Art 35mm f/1.4 – this lens delivers a high level of brightness and beautiful bokeh effects.
Canon RF 35mm – this lens is fast and sharp.
Canon RF 70-200mm – a great lens for all types of events.
Canon RF 14-35mm – this lens is a fantastic wide-angle option for events.
Canon EF 85mm f/1.4 – an excellent lens for closer shots.
Canon EF 50mm – this is an affordable and lightweight option for my film cameras.
Godox V1 Pro-C Round Head Flash – this is an excellent option for events and weddings when you need fast, consecutive lighting. I also have the Canon Speedlight 580EX II as a backup.
Lowepro Protactic BP 450 AW – this is my preferred professional modular waterproof camera backpack with mission-critical access. I can fit a lot inside, even an extra T-shirt and it’s great to take on a plane!
I use Narrative Select for quickly culling my photos, and then, of course, Lightroom for post editing.
I always carry spare batteries and cards; mostly, I use SanDisk Extreme PRO 256GB, as they are very reliable.
Fifteen to twenty years ago, I felt the competition in photography was overwhelming, and I doubted I could make it as a full-time photographer. But I never let go of my dream.
I still love photography just as much today, and I’m learning to be patient and thankful for every opportunity and every client who values my work.
