The compact, space-saving design of the TM-U295 has been reali-sed through the use of the EPSON Shuttle Printing Technique, which makes it possible to print any type of slip, such as vouchers or cheques. The high-level of requirements of a slip printer are derived from the variety of various slip forms, they are often different in terms of the font orientation and the change of print direction on the same sheet, different font sizes and also set ranges for entries on the respective form.
The TM-U295 provides the following options: over-head prin- ting, up to four character heights, positioning over tables and also what is known as “Page Mode”. Amongst other features, this provides for four different print directi- ons and also the precise positioning within the defined page. It is therefore easy to print precisely into set fields on a slip.
The Page Mode also supports a page memory, which allows the individual print element to be positioned precisely and which only activates the printout after the page is complete. Thus, software development to support various slip types is extremely simple. Other functions are also offered which are generally important in a POS environment; the control of up to two cashdrawers and also checking or constant recording of the printer and paper status and also either front or back slip output.
